Hello McCoy Families!
I am so excited to join you here at McCoy as a fifth grade teacher. My educational background includes a BA in History, and MAs in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction. I have worked in education since 1986 in Texas and Nevada serving as a 4th-12th grade teacher, K-8 campus principal, staff development specialist, and sold educational software and textbooks. Finding ways to improve educational experiences for students and teachers is what I love to do.
After twenty-two years in Nevada, I was so happy my family came back to Texas two years ago. My husband, Bill, and I have twenty-three-year-old twins, Jacob and Katie. We have two rescue dogs...Cinnamon is a fifteen-year-old terrier mix and Poppy is a six-month-old Dalmation. They keep us busy for sure.
For the last two years, I have served the adults with special needs community, working at BiG here in Georgetown. While I enjoyed my time at BiG, I am happy to be back in the classroom serving the families in my neighborhood and community.
I'm looking forward to a great year as a McCoy Bobcat!
